DescriptionThe whole story▼
Consistent torque delivery and an end to the frustrating mid-to-top-end power drop — that is the immediate, tangible improvement the JetPrime JP ATR 006 racing velocity stacks bring to your Yamaha YZF-R3. Designed from the ground up for the 2015-2020 YZF-R3, these CNC-machined intake funnels slot directly into the standard airbox and redefine how the engine breathes across the entire rev range.
Key Features
- Eliminates the top-end torque drop that limits YZF-R3 performance at higher revs, delivering a smoother, more consistent power curve
- Optimised inlet geometry accelerates airflow into the throttle bodies, sharpening throttle response and engine reaction on track
- Plug-and-play fitment into the standard Yamaha YZF-R3 airbox — no additional modifications or adaptors required
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075-T6 aerospace-grade aluminium alloy for maximum strength, precision tolerances and long service life
- Developed and tested specifically for the YZF-R3 (2015-2020) — not a generic part, but a model-specific solution
- 100% Made in Italy by JetPrime, to the manufacturing standards expected at race and track level
Performance & Build Quality
JetPrime engineered the JP ATR 006 to address a specific weakness in the YZF-R3's standard intake setup: as revs climb, the stock funnels restrict the volume and velocity of incoming air, causing a perceptible flattening of the power curve. The redesigned inlet profile of these velocity stacks corrects that restriction, guiding a greater charge of air into the combustion chamber with minimal turbulence. The result is more efficient combustion at high rpm and a noticeable, measurable gain in top-end output.
The choice of Ergal 7075-T6 — a high-tensile aluminium alloy more commonly associated with aerospace and premium motorsport components — means each funnel is machined to tight tolerances that a cast or pressed part cannot replicate. The surface finish is clean and precise, seating correctly against the airbox without the need for shimming or sealing compound.
Track Use & Installation
Installation is deliberately straightforward. The JP ATR 006 funnels replace the stock items inside the existing airbox, using the standard mounting points. No re-mapping is mandatory for installation, though as with any intake modification used in a track environment, mapping optimisation will maximise the performance gain. The plug-and-play nature of the design means preparation time before a track day is kept to a minimum.
Fitment & Compatibility
These velocity stacks are designed exclusively for the following motorcycle:
- Yamaha YZF-R3 — model years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020
Note: This product is intended exclusively for racing and track use. It is not approved or legal for road use.
