DescriptionThe whole story

KTM's 990 Duke is the LC8c twin at its most focused, and the orange trellis frame means every part bolted near it is either matched or obviously not. JetPrime supplies this switch in orange as well as black — one of very few kill switches made in a colour chosen for a specific manufacturer.

Key Features

  • For the KTM 990 Duke (2024–2026) and 990 Duke R (2025–2026)
  • Removes the ignition block, barrel and key
  • Around 350 g saved from the steering head
  • Two anodised finishes: black and KTM orange
  • Machined Ergal housing with an IP69K-sealed button
  • Key Box included for the KTM immobiliser

Orange, Deliberately

JP KS KT048 O is anodised orange rather than painted, which matters on a KTM because the frame it sits above is the reference point everyone measures against. Anodising takes the colour into the surface of the alloy, so the edges do not chip where a glove catches them and the finish ages at the same rate as the rest of the bike. Black (JP KS KT048) remains the option for anyone who would rather the switch disappeared.

Duke and Duke R

The R adds suspension, brakes and a sharper chassis setup but keeps the 990's electrical architecture, so both take the same switch. If the bike changes within the family, the part carries over.

Installation

The switch bolts to the standard mounting points and the factory ignition plug transfers straight across — nothing drilled, nothing cut. The Key Box holding the original key connects to the immobiliser antenna and tucks out of sight. Fully reversible, which is worth having on a bike this new.
