DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 2025 Panigale V2 is a genuinely new motorcycle: an 890 cc twin in a new frame, sharing little with the 955 it replaced beyond the name. New loom, new ignition connector, new part number. JP KS DU066 is the JetPrime switch for it.
Key Features
- For the Panigale V2 890 and V2 S 890, 2025–2026
- Removes the ignition block, barrel and key
- Around 350 g saved high on the chassis
- Machined Ergal housing, anodised black
- IP69K-rated push button
- Key Box included for the Ducati coded-key immobiliser
890, Not 955
This is the single most important thing to get right when ordering. The Panigale V2 955 built from 2020 to 2024 takes a different JetPrime part; the 890 built from 2025 takes this one. The bikes share a name and a silhouette and nothing electrical. Check the model year, not the shape.
New Bike, Existing Argument
Ducati took weight out of the 2025 V2 everywhere it could, which makes the surviving ignition barrel look more out of place than it did on the 955. The 350 g this switch removes sits above the roll axis and ahead of the steering axis — the most expensive location on a motorcycle to carry mass, and the reason manufacturers chase grams there themselves.
Materials and Sealing
The housing is cut from solid Ergal — 7075 aluminium — rather than cast, so wall sections stay thin without losing stiffness and there is no porosity to hold water. The button carries an IP69K rating, the class written for cleaning with 80 °C water at 100 bar from close range.
Fitment and Compatibility
- Ducati Panigale V2 890 (2025–2026)
- Ducati Panigale V2 S 890 (2025–2026)
Road Approval
None. The ignition lock is part of the motorcycle's type approval. Closed-circuit and competition use only.
