DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 063 handles both halves of removing the Hypermotard 698 Mono's canister: the hardware that comes off and the purge valve circuit that has to be answered afterwards.
Key Features
- Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono (2024–2026)
- Removes the charcoal canister, its valve and its hoses
- Vents the fuel tank through a proper fitting
- Answers the purge valve circuit
- Frees the space the canister occupied
- Standard parts refit at any time
Ten Thousand Revolutions
A single spinning that high is extraordinary, and desmodromic valve gear is what makes it possible. Nothing else in the class approaches it.
Overfilling Ruins It
Continuing to pump after the nozzle clicks pushes liquid petrol into the carbon. A soaked bed causes hard starting and an uneven idle nobody traces to a fuel station.
An Open Hose Is Not Equivalent
It works until the motorcycle is transported on its side or dropped, and then it demonstrates precisely why a proper fitting exists.
The Full Sequence
Seat off, tank lifted and supported, hoses freed at both ends, bracket unbolted, vessel out, vent fitted, purge circuit answered, everything back together.
Not Every Symptom Is the Canister
Hard starting has several causes and a tired battery is more common than a saturated bed. Establishing which is which before ordering saves money.
A Straightforward Reversal
Every part refits into its original hole with its original fastener, which is what separates a modification from an alteration.
The Smell Test
A persistent fuel odour around a parked motorcycle is frequently a split vapour line rather than anything in the fuel system, and it is worth checking first.
An Afternoon, Not an Evening
The removal itself is simple once the tank and side panels are off. What takes the time is tracing every hose to its end and making sure nothing is left open, because an open vapour line into an intake is worse than the canister ever was.
Where Ducati Puts the Canister
It goes wherever there is room, which on a superbike means under the tail and on an adventure machine means alongside the swingarm or behind the engine. That is why the space it frees is worth different amounts to different owners, and why the job is worth doing on some models and barely noticeable on others.
