DescriptionThe whole story▼

For the M 1000 RR of 2023 and 2024, with its new bodywork and larger winglets, Gilles offers the IP-BM13-B crash pad kit. Gilles' photos show the pads fitted on both sides of an M 1000 RR, where they protrude just far enough to take the first contact in a fall.

Key Features

  • Impact bodies in a special, abrasion-resistant plastic
  • Vehicle-specific kit with flexible frame attachment
  • Lower risk of frame and engine damage in a fall
  • Set for the left and right side, black
  • Patented IP crash pads with a progressive impact inlay
  • No registration required, according to Gilles

SM99, 2023 and 2024

Listed for these years only; the earlier M 1000 RR takes the IP-BM11-B.

Road Approval

According to Gilles, this protection part does not require any approval, so there is nothing to inspect or enter on the BMW M1000RR. Follow the fitting instructions and re-check the fasteners after the first kilometres.

Scope of Delivery

A left and a right IP crash pad with the mounting kit for this motorcycle.

Fitting

Fit one side at a time, so the engine mount or frame bolt that the kit uses is never loose on both sides at once. Tighten to the specified torque, check the clearance to fairing and exhaust, and turn the handlebar from lock to lock to make sure nothing interferes. After a fall, inspect the pads and the brackets even if the damage looks small.
