DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fullsix calls this shape Strada, and it is a belly pan built in two halves rather than one piece. The left half closes the underside of the motorcycle from the frame down, forward of the rear wheel, and it is what turns the open bottom of a naked roadster into something with a defined line.
Key Features
- Left half of the Strada belly pan, direct replacement
- 245 Twill weave in clear coat or matt
- Autoclave-cured laminate over the lowest bodywork on the motorcycle
- Original mounting points and fasteners
- Ordered separately from the right half
Two Halves Instead of One
A belly pan split down the middle is easier to fit than a single moulding, because each half can be located and started on its fasteners independently before the two are brought together. It is also easier to replace after damage, which on the lowest panel of a motorcycle is not a theoretical consideration.
The cost is a visible joint along the centreline. On a part that sits under the engine and is seen mostly from the side that matters very little, but it is worth knowing before the parcel is opened.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S1000R, model years 2013 to 2016, left half. The right half is a separate article and both are needed for a complete pan. The 2017-2020 facelift and the 2021 model use different bodywork.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Belly pans are subject to oil-retention rules at many track days; check both the registration position and the organiser's regulations.
The Finish Nobody Sees Clean
This panel lives in road spray and whatever the front wheel throws backwards. Clear coat here is a commitment to washing rather than a style choice, and it looks extraordinary only for as long as that commitment holds.
Matt is the pragmatic answer on a roadster used through the year, because it hides the film that a gloss surface displays between washes. Order both halves in the same finish and from the same order where possible.
