DescriptionThe whole story▼
The EK 525 ZVX3 NX-Ring chain in steel/steel finish is engineered to meet the extreme demands of high-performance supersport and road motorcycles. With a tensile strength of 45.8 kN (10,300 lbs), a riveted master link for maximum connection security, and a relative service life rating of 4000 per 100 links, it sets a benchmark that standard OEM chains simply cannot match.
Key Features
- 45.8 kN (10,300 lbs) tensile strength — designed for high-output litre-class machines and heavy torque loads
- NX-Ring seal technology minimises internal friction and retains lubrication for dramatically reduced wear
- Relative service life rating of 4000 per 100 links — well above conventional OEM-spec chains
- ZVX3 construction delivers exceptional lateral rigidity and consistent power transfer under sustained load
- Supplied open with a rivet link for the most secure possible master-link connection on performance motorcycles
- Classic steel/steel finish — functional, understated, and highly resistant to everyday road conditions
- Available from 94 to 146 links to cover a vast range of 525-pitch applications
NX-Ring Seal Technology
EK's NX-Ring seals represent the brand's highest-grade sealing solution in this chain family. Unlike conventional O-rings, the NX-Ring profile creates a more effective contact surface that keeps grease locked inside each link's pin-and-bushing interface. The result is measurably lower friction, far slower elongation over time, and service intervals that experienced riders will notice immediately when switching from a budget chain. At just 2.05 kg per 100 links, this level of durability comes without a weight penalty you can feel.
ZVX3 Construction and Rivet Link Security
The ZVX3 designation identifies EK's premium road and track chain series — a construction that prioritises lateral stiffness and plate-to-plate consistency across every link. A stiff chain tracks accurately through sprocket teeth, reduces vibration transmitted to the swingarm, and transfers torque more smoothly than a chain that flexes laterally under load. This matters most when exiting corners hard or accelerating through the mid-range on a powerful inline-four or V-twin.
The chain is supplied open with a rivet link rather than a clip-type master link. Riveted connection is the preferred standard on any high-performance application because it eliminates the risk of a clip working loose under repeated load cycles. Fitting requires a chain breaker and riveting tool, which is the correct approach for this class of motorcycle.
Steel/Steel Finish
The steel/steel colour combination is the definitive functional choice. There are no anodised or coloured plates to chip or fade — just clean, uniform steel throughout. It suits any bike where durability and precision engineering take priority over aesthetics, and it ages gracefully without showing cosmetic wear the way coloured chains do.
