BST builds the STAR TEK rim from aerospace-grade prepreg carbon fibre laid up in a single monocoque structure — no joints, no bonded sections, no compromises in the load path. The BST Ultra-High-Speed 90° aluminium valve is spec'd to handle sustained high-speed running without the valve stem becoming a vibration point, making this wheel as practical for a long Sunday ride as it is for a race weekend.
The 6082 T6 aluminium hub spider is machined to close tolerances, giving you the choice of steel or ceramic bearings depending on your budget and intended use. Ceramic bearings reduce friction and offer superior durability under repeated high-speed loading; steel bearings are the sensible choice for everyday road riding and deliver the same structural performance at a lower entry price.
Safety and Testing
BST subjects every STAR TEK wheel to a rigorous test programme before it reaches a customer. The schedule includes one million bending and torsion cycles tested to TÜV 287 StVZO and JASO T203-85, 6,000 km of radial load simulation, and a radial impact test with residual air-pressure retention. The 100% CT-scan of each finished wheel means internal voids or lay-up anomalies cannot reach the road. This is not catalogue-level compliance — it is production-line verification of every individual unit.
