DescriptionThe whole story▼

Almost every rider has done it once: you stop, flick the side stand down with your heel, lean the bike over and feel it keep going. The stand was not fully out. On a Monster 797, Ducati's accessible way into its naked range with an air-cooled twin and a low seat, this is a classic first-season mistake, and the bike lands on its left side with the clutch lever underneath. For the Monster 797 of 2017 to 2021, Accossato lists the AGS310, a black replacement clutch lever in the original form.

Key Features

  • Original-type replacement clutch lever for the Ducati Monster 797
  • Accossato lists it for 2017 to 2021
  • Black
  • Left-hand lever for the clutch
  • Designed by Accossato for value for money
  • Accossato states that its production process increases resistance after damage or a fall
  • One lever
  • No German ABE or test mark on file; racing and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

A fall like this is embarrassing rather than serious, and the repair should be equally undramatic. The AGS310 follows the pattern of the lever Ducati fitted, so after the swap the Monster 797 looks as it did before. Accossato developed its spares of the original type for value for money, and it says their manufacturing process gives them better resistance after damage or an impact. The lever is black, as on Accossato's list; the maker gives no further technical details.

Look, Then Lean

The fix is a habit rather than a part. Before you lean the bike over, look down or feel with your foot that the stand has swung fully forward and rests on the ground. Keep both hands on the bars and lower the bike onto the stand slowly, ready to catch it, until the Monster 797 has settled. The side stand switch will not help here: it is there to stop the engine if a gear is engaged with the stand down, not to warn you that the stand is only half out. On soft or sloping ground, look for a firmer spot or use a stand plate. After a fall, lift the bike, check the lever, the mirror, the footpeg and the gear lever on the left, and fit the replacement with a clean, lightly greased pivot. Pull it several times with the engine off, check that the clutch switch reacts and try the clutch in first gear at a standstill before setting off.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Monster 797, Accossato's list covers the years 2017 to 2021 with this one black lever; there is no second clutch lever to choose from and no replacement brake lever. Inter-Pace offers the AGS310 under several other Ducatis as well, including the Scrambler Icon, the Scrambler Sixty2 and the Monster 821. If you would rather fit a tuning part, Accossato's CNC levers for the Monster 797 are EDB012 for the brake and ESD022 for the clutch.

Road Approval

We have no approval papers for this lever, so there is neither a German ABE nor a test mark. The AGS310 is listed for racing and competition.
