DescriptionThe whole story▼

This Accossato 16x16 brake master cylinder keeps the single-disc 16 mm piston and the softest 16 mm pivot distance of its folding-lever sibling, but fits a rigid fixed lever with no blade joint of its own. It is aimed at riders who want the lightest lever action in the range delivered through a lever that cannot develop play over time. The body is CNC-machined aluminium, black anodised in Italy, with the long lever carrying a relieving eyelet and offered in seven colours.

Key Features

  • 16 mm piston diameter, sized for single-disc front brake systems
  • Fixed 16 mm pivot distance, the softest setting in the range, for a lighter lever pull
  • Fixed lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), no folding blade joint
  • Seven lever colours with a colour-matched adjusting knob
  • CNC-machined aluminium body with black anodised finish
  • Offset riser that limits master cylinder deflection under braking
  • Stainless steel screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

Every screw used to mount this master cylinder is stainless steel, the bleed valve is galvanised steel, and the seals are a Formula 1 compound able to tolerate sustained brake fluid exposure and heat. Accossato CNC-machines the aluminium body to shape and finishes it with black anodising in Italy. The clamp carries an off-set riser that resists flex when the lever is pulled with force, and the passive stroke, the travel that occurs before the pads actually engage, is more than 50 percent shorter than on a standard radial unit.

The Softest Pivot, Without a Folding Joint

The 16 mm piston and 16 mm pivot distance combine on this unit for the same light, easy-to-pull brake feel as the folding version, with less hand force needed and a correspondingly longer lever stroke. What changes here is the lever itself: a single rigid piece rather than a folding blade, so there is no pivot at the lever end to develop play over years of use, only the fixed mount at the bar. Riders who already know they want the softer 16 mm pivot setting, but prefer the plain, solid feel of a one-piece lever over a folding design, specify this configuration instead of its folding-lever sibling, with the brake performance itself unchanged between the two.

Fitment and Compatibility

54 motorcycles sit on this brake master cylinder's confirmed fitment list, Suzuki's GSF1250 Bandit and GSX-S750 included alongside BMW's R1250R. Full model years are set out in the Fitment tab on this page; please match them against your own registration before ordering.

Road Approval

This brake master cylinder carries no ABE documented for this part number, so it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package contains the Accossato CL034 radial master cylinder complete with the long fixed lever with relieving eyelet (RST), in the lever colour selected, and the matching colour-anodised adjusting knob. Stainless steel mounting screws and the galvanised bleed valve are fitted; the stop light switch and fluid reservoir are not included and are ordered separately (switch under code ID001 or ID002, reservoir as a standalone item).
