DescriptionThe whole story▼
Honda's NC750X is covered by the HS053 kit, which does away with the factory clutch cable in favour of a 13.5 mm piston pump, a dedicated hose and the AT002-64-73 actuator from Accossato. The kit is made in Italy, pitched as lightweight and easy to fit, with the aim of cutting the effort needed at the lever. Accossato recommends fitting through a qualified workshop, after which the system is filled, bled and its operation checked; DOT 4 is the only fluid specified.
Key Features
- Converts the cable-operated clutch to hydraulic operation
- Clutch pump with a 13.5 mm piston
- Clutch hose included
- AT002-64-73 actuator specific to this application
- Lightweight, made in Italy
- Said by Accossato to reduce lever effort and need little maintenance
- DOT 4 fluid only
Construction and Material Quality
The NC750X's factory cable is replaced here with a clutch pump cut to a 13.5 mm piston diameter, feeding through a dedicated hose to the AT002-64-73 actuator at the gearbox. Accossato builds the kit in Italy, keeping it light rather than adding bulk to the clutch assembly, and states that maintenance needs are minimal once the system has been bled and is in use. DOT 4 is the only fluid Accossato lists as suitable for it.
A Long-Distance Adventure Commuter
The NC750X sits between a commuter and an adventure bike, used by plenty of owners for both a daily ride to work and longer trips at the weekend, which means the clutch sees the high-frequency, low-speed use of town riding as well as the sustained motorway stints of a longer journey. Accossato's case for the hydraulic conversion, that it cuts the effort needed at the lever and avoids the gradual slackening a cable develops, applies across both kinds of riding rather than favouring one over the other. For an owner who uses the NC750X as their only bike, covering both roles, that consistency across riding styles is more relevant than it would be on a machine kept for a single kind of trip.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing is confirmed for the Honda NC750X (2015–2018), with exact years set out in the Fitment tab on this page. Its road-biased NC750S sibling takes the identical AT002-64-73 actuator and pump, as do a BMW adventure twin, a KTM adventure model, two Suzuki naked bikes and two Yamaha models, each listed in its own right on this site.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the HS053; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use.
