DescriptionThe whole story▼
A well-kept CBR1000RR SP holds its value better than most superbikes, which is exactly why owners who plan to sell or part-exchange tend to think twice before risking cosmetic damage on track. Front axle sliders are one of the cheaper ways to protect that resale position: they take the scuffing that would otherwise mark the fork legs or axle nuts, parts a buyer inspects closely. For the CBR1000RR and Fireblade SP built between 2008 and 2018, Accossato's PF051 fills that role.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Honda CBR1000RR and Fireblade SP, 2008 to 2018
- Accossato part PF051, one protector for each side of the front wheel
- Aluminium combined with plastic, finished in black
- Spacers, screws and further mounting parts in the kit, as stated by Accossato
- Meant to touch down first and spare the fork legs in a low-speed fall
- Covers several Fireblade and Fireblade SP versions across this production span
- Also listed in our shop for the newer CBR1000RR-R
- No German ABE on file; listed for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The PF051 is built from aluminium combined with plastic, with both sliders finished in black to match the dark fork legs most CBR1000RR and Fireblade SP models wear. One protector sits on each side of the front axle, and Accossato packs spacers, screws and the remaining parts it considers necessary for fitting into the same kit. How the sliders key into this particular Honda's axle isn't set out in the information supplied to us, so that's left to the fitting sheet and a workshop with the bike in front of them, not to assumptions made here.
Protecting a Bike That's Worth Keeping Clean
Superbikes from this era, especially SP versions, are increasingly bought as much for their collector appeal as for outright pace, and owners are correspondingly careful about how a fall or a tip-over in the paddock might mark the bike permanently. A scraped fork leg or a chipped axle nut is the kind of damage that shows up in photos when the bike eventually goes up for sale. Sliders don't stop a fall from happening, but they do give the front end something replaceable to sacrifice instead of a part that's expensive, or simply hard to find, to put right afterwards.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers the CBR1000RR and Fireblade SP across several versions built between 2008 and 2018, including both the 2008-2011 and 2012-2013 Fireblade and the 2014-2016 and 2017-2018 SP; check your exact version against the current application list, since specification changed across this span. The same PF051 part is also listed in our shop for the newer CBR1000RR-R.
Road Approval
Accossato supplies no German ABE or similar approval paperwork for the PF051, so we offer this pair for racing and competition use on the CBR1000RR and Fireblade SP, not for everyday road riding.
