DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Aprilia Shiver 750 GT is the half-faired version of Aprilia's naked V-twin, built to make longer trips more relaxed. Those trips come with many stops, at viewpoints, lay-bys and petrol stations, often on ground that slopes more than it looks. A bike parked facing downhill can roll forward off its side stand and fall. For the Shiver 750 GT of 2009 to 2016, Accossato lists the PF031, a black pair of front axle sliders for moments like that.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Aprilia Shiver 750 GT, 2009 to 2016
- Part number PF031, Accossato front fork protection
- Two pieces: left and right
- Aluminium and plastic, black
- Spacers, screws and fitting parts included per Accossato
- Meant to touch down first in a fall
- PP011 rear sliders and TP052 crash pads also available
- No German ABE on file; for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the PF031 from aluminium and plastic, finishes it in black and packs two, one for each side. Spacers, screws and all the other parts needed for fitting are included, according to the manufacturer. On the GT, the sliders are there for the moments when the bike ends up on its side. They are designed to take the first contact with the ground at the front and can reduce the damage to the fork and the axle area.
Parking on a Slope
A side stand holds a motorcycle well as long as the bike leans onto it. If the bike faces downhill, gravity pulls it forward, and the stand can fold up once it starts to roll. The rules are simple. Where possible, park the Shiver 750 GT facing uphill and leave it in first gear, which stops it from rolling. Check that the bike leans firmly onto the stand before you let go. Look at the ground before you put the stand down: gravel, grass and soft tarmac can give way. With luggage on board, the bike is heavier and the stand carries more weight. Now and then, check that the side stand's spring and switch still work properly. If the bike has fallen, check the sliders, the fairing, the mirrors and the levers before riding on, and replace a damaged slider.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list includes the Shiver 750 GT among the bikes for the PF031, covering 2009 to 2016. Our shop links the identical pair to the Shiver 900 and the Dorsoduro 750, among others. Two more Accossato parts are made for other areas of the GT: rear sliders with the code PP011 and the TP052 pads. If your registration papers show a year outside that range, or you are unsure about the version of your Shiver 750 GT, let us know before ordering.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no approval documents are available to us for the PF031, which is why it is sold for competition and track riding.
