DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Tracer 7 takes the MT-07's twin and dresses it for touring, with a taller screen and a pillion-friendly seat that make it a natural choice for a couple heading off on a multi-day trip together. Riding two-up changes how a bike settles at a standstill, since the extra weight sits further back and higher than when the rider travels alone, and a pillion climbing on or off at the wrong moment can shift that balance just enough to tip the bike. Accossato lists the TP064 crash pads for the Tracer 7 of 2016 to 2018.

Key Features

  • Crash pads for the Yamaha Tracer 7, 2016 to 2018
  • Accossato TP064, two pads per pack
  • CNC-machined aluminium body
  • Anodised insert in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
  • Matching screw cover available as an option
  • Same code also listed for the Yamaha MT-07
  • Ask us before ordering whether drilling is needed
  • No German ABE on file; for track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The TP064 body is cut from aluminium and carries an anodised insert in one of six colours, with a matching screw cover available as an option. The pack holds two pads. Carrying two people changes how the Tracer 7 settles at a standstill, and the pads sit close to the frame precisely for that moment, meant to take the first contact if the loaded bike tips over, sparing the frame nearby some of what it would otherwise absorb. A pad that shows a deep scrape has done its job and should be replaced.

Climbing On and Off Two-Up

A pillion stepping onto the Tracer 7 while the rider holds the front brake adds weight gradually, but the moment that weight arrives matters: stepping on too quickly, or pushing off the footrest rather than swinging the leg over cleanly, can rock the bike further than the rider expects, especially if the side stand has already settled into soft ground. Getting off is just as delicate, since the bike rebounds upward the instant the pillion's weight lifts away, and a rider not braced for that change can be caught off balance. Agreeing a simple routine beforehand, where the pillion waits for a clear signal before mounting or dismounting, reduces the risk considerably. If the bike does tip during one of these moments, the crash pads take the first contact; check them, the mirror and the lever before continuing the trip.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Tracer 7, our listing keeps to the 2016-to-2018 span that Accossato's own application list gives for the TP064. This same pad also appears in our shop against the Yamaha MT-07, which shares the engine and much of the frame. Since Accossato's catalogue calls for drilling on some unspecified motorcycles, check with us before ordering whether your Tracer 7 needs it; no other Accossato protection part is listed for this model.

Road Approval

We have no ABE or test certificate on file for the TP064, so it is supplied for racing and competition use.
