DescriptionThe whole story▼
Enduro training courses usually begin slowly, with an instructor, a few cones and a field. Riders spend the first morning on figure eights and tight circles at walking pace, feet on the pegs, controlling the bike almost entirely with the clutch and the rear brake. For a 2017 Husqvarna FE 250 doing that kind of work, Accossato offers the C7284, a folding clutch lever milled from Ergal 7075 in Italy. It has a long four-finger blade and can fold forward when a practice circle ends on the ground.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Husqvarna FE 250, model year 2017
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mount
- Long blade for four fingers
- Anti-break joint lets the blade fold forward under impact
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue or orange
- No German ABE documented; off-road and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
At the heart of the C7284 is the joint between its two parts. The dark base stays on the pivot at the original clutch mount, while the blade, in black, blue or orange, is attached to it so that it can fold forward under a heavy impact. Both parts are CNC-machined in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, in line with Accossato's aim of a lever that is strong, light and reliable. The blade has the longer clutch shape, drawn for four fingers.
Cones, Circles and a Lot of Tip-Overs
Low-speed drills are the foundation of enduro technique, and they are harder than they look. A tight circle ridden standing up, with the bars on full lock, depends on a slipping clutch to keep the rear wheel driving while the engine stays just above idle. Too little clutch and the FE 250 stalls; too much and it runs wide or lurches. Instructors often have riders repeat the same exercise for an hour until the left hand finds the friction point without thought, because that skill carries over to every steep, rocky or muddy section they will meet later.
It also means falling over, a lot. Most of the falls happen at walking pace and hurt nothing but pride, yet a bike that tips on to its left side lands on the clutch lever, and a day of drills can leave several bent or broken levers across a group. The C7284 is made with that in mind. Its blade can fold forward when the bike goes down and then be set back so the exercise continues. A hard fall on to a stone can still damage it, but on a training field it gives the lever a good chance of lasting the weekend.
Fitment and Compatibility
The C7284 is Accossato's clutch lever for the Husqvarna FE 250 of 2017, and the listing covers that single model year. It goes on the original clutch mount in place of the stock lever. The earlier FE 250 of 2014 to 2016 is listed with the C7283. The B8283 folding brake lever covers the whole period from 2014 to 2017 and, like this clutch lever, is offered in black, blue or orange.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the C7284. The FE 250 can be registered for the road, but this lever is intended for off-road riding and competition and is not approved for public roads.
Scope of Delivery
