DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Daytona 675 puts its rider in a proper supersport crouch: weight forward, clip-ons low, wrists angled down towards the bars. From there, the fingers meet the brake lever pointing downward, and the lever's angle and distance decide how precisely you can hold a little brake pressure into a corner. For this bike Accossato makes the EDF035, a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever listed from 2006 to 2017, with a reach adjuster and three blade lengths.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Triumph Daytona 675, 2006 to 2017
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Short blade for two-finger braking on track
- Standard length approximately 138 mm, available in all seven colours
- Machined aluminium, anodised; black hub
- Fixed, one-piece blade
- Sold for track use; no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF035 is cut from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised. Its black hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster, and the blade comes in any of seven colours, from black and silver to orange and green. There is no folding joint anywhere: the lever is a single piece from end to end, so what you feel at the tip is the master cylinder and nothing in between. The machined edges give the fingers a clean, consistent contact, lap after lap.
Trail Braking From a Crouch
Trail braking means carrying a small, decreasing amount of front brake from the straight into the corner, so the front tyre stays loaded while the bike turns in. It is a delicate input, and a bent wrist makes it harder to control. On the Daytona 675 the hands already sit low; if the lever is also far from the grip, the wrist bends further to reach it and fine control suffers. Two adjustments help. Angle the master cylinder down on the clip-on until lever and forearm form a straight line in the tucked position, and bring the blade in so that your braking fingers reach it without leaving the throttle. The EDF035's adjuster handles the second step. Many track riders combine this with the short blade, offered in gold, silver, orange, blue and green, which leaves room for the other fingers on the throttle while two fingers modulate the brake.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists two brake levers for the Daytona 675. The EDF035 is listed for 2006 to 2017, while the EDF099 is listed for bikes from 2011 to 2017. Because the two listings overlap for the later years, owners of a 2011 or later Daytona 675 should compare their original lever and master cylinder with the photos of both products before ordering. On the clutch side, the EST333 is listed for this bike from 2006 to 2017.
Road Approval
The EDF035 has no documented German ABE. It is intended for, and sold for, track use.
