DescriptionThe whole story▼
An America LT is often loaded when it leaves the garage: a passenger behind, bags on the sides, a weekend's worth of clothes on board. All of that weight has to be slowed by the front brake, and a heavier bike asks for a lever you can squeeze smoothly and progressively rather than grab. The Accossato EDF014 is a CNC-machined brake lever for the Triumph America LT, listed for the 2014 to 2016 model years, with an adjustable distance to the grip so the blade sits where your hand has the most control.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the America LT, listed for 2014 to 2016
- Fits on the original master cylinder
- Adjustable distance to the handlebar grip
- Long blade for four-finger braking in blue, gold, green or orange
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm, in every colour
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised; hub always black
- Fixed one-piece design without a folding joint
- Packed individually in an Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF014 starts as aluminium stock and is shaped on CNC machines before it is anodised. Accossato keeps the hub black on every lever and colours only the blade, which leaves you free to pick up the chrome and paint of your America LT or to keep the cockpit dark. Anodising creates the colour within the surface of the aluminium; there is no paint film to chip when a helmet, a bag strap or a jacket zip knocks against the bar during loading. The blade is fixed, one continuous piece, so it responds the same way every time.
Two Up and Fully Loaded
With a passenger on board, braking changes in two ways. The bike carries more weight into every stop, and the person behind you slides forward if the brake comes on abruptly, pushing you both towards the tank and making the next input harder to judge. Smooth braking starts before the pads touch the disc. With the lever close enough to the fingers, you can take up the free travel gently, hold the pressure and then build it steadily. A long blade lets all four fingers share the effort and gives more leverage at the tip, which helps on a loaded bike at the end of a long day; it is produced in blue, orange, gold and green. Riders who prefer the proportions of the original lever can stay with the standard length, which exists in all seven colours. It also helps to agree with your passenger how they will brace themselves, so that neither of you is surprised by a firmer stop.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF014 for the America LT, and since the LT arrived for the 2014 model year, the lever covers the LT from 2014 to 2016. The lever replaces the original blade on the stock master cylinder and needs no other changes to the brake. Accossato names no matching clutch lever for the LT in its list, so the brake lever is sold here on its own. If you are unsure about the model year or about earlier modifications to the handlebar controls of your America LT, compare your original lever with the product photos before you order.
Road Approval
A German ABE is not documented for the EDF014; accordingly, it is supplied for track use.
