DescriptionThe whole story▼
Superbike cockpits are drawn around an average hand, and riders with large hands or long fingers know the result: the fingertips land beyond the end of the lever, or the ring and little fingers are left with nothing to hold. On a Panigale V4 S, the Accossato EDF011 gives those riders more options. It is a CNC-machined brake lever, listed by Accossato for the V4 S from 2018 to 2020, mounted on the original master cylinder, with adjustable reach and a long blade among its versions.
Key Features
- EDF011 brake lever for the Panigale V4 S, 2018 to 2020
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Long blade in blue, gold, green and orange for larger hands
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm, short blade in five colours
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised; hub always black
- Fixed construction, no folding joint
- Track use: no German ABE is documented
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF011 is machined from solid aluminium and anodised, with the hub always black and the blade in one of seven colours. Accossato makes the blade in three lengths around the same hub: a standard version of approximately 138 mm, a shorter one and a longer one. All three are fixed levers without a folding joint, so choosing a longer blade for your Panigale V4 S changes where your fingers sit, not how the lever is built.
Room for Larger Hands
For a large hand, the long blade is the obvious starting point. It gives all four fingers a full surface to pull on and adds a little leverage at the tip. Combined with the reach adjuster, it lets you move the blade outwards so that long fingers close around it at the first joint instead of hooking over the end. Riders who brake with two fingers but have long fingers may find that the standard blade already works, because the middle finger reaches further along it than on a smaller hand. Try the setting in the gloves you actually wear on the V4 S, since thick gauntlets make a big hand bigger still. After fitting a long blade, turn the bars from lock to lock and check that the lever clears the bodywork on both sides, as you would after any lever change.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF011 for the Panigale V4 S from 2018 to 2020, under a V4 1100 S reference. A second Accossato brake lever, the EDF099, is listed for the V4 S until 2024 under a 998 S reference. With two options for the early years, check the photos of both against your original lever. On the clutch side, the ESH011 covers the V4 S of the 2018, 2019 and 2020 model years.
Road Approval
The paperwork for German road use, an ABE, is not documented for the EDF011. It is sold for the track.
