DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato 13.5 mm axial brake master cylinder is aimed at offroad motorcycles, scooters and pitbikes that call for prompt, easily modulated front braking from a compact unit. Unlike the radial pumps in Accossato's sportbike range, this is an axial design, with its own fluid reservoir built into the body rather than fitted separately. The pump body is nickel-plated, while the reservoir cap and lever are finished in black, giving the unit a two-tone look straight out of the box.

Key Features

  • 13.5 mm piston diameter, axial design for offroad motorcycles, scooters and pitbikes
  • Integrated fluid reservoir built into the master cylinder body
  • Nickel-plated pump body with a black reservoir cap and lever
  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium
  • Offset U-bolt in galvanised steel
  • M10x1 brake hose connection thread

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato CNC machines this master cylinder from solid aluminium billet before nickel-plating the pump body; the reservoir cap and the lever are then finished in black for contrast against the plated housing. A galvanised steel U-bolt, offset within the clamp, secures the unit to the handlebar, and the brake hose attaches by the standard M10x1 thread shared across the wider Accossato catalogue. Because the fluid reservoir is cast as part of the body rather than hung from a separate bracket, there is one less joint and one less hose run to work loose once the bike is taken off-road.

Why an Axial Design for This Piston Size

Axial master cylinders use a simpler internal layout than the radial units built for Accossato's sportbike range, and that simplicity suits exactly the scooters, pitbikes and offroad motorcycles this 13.5 mm pump is aimed at: fewer moving parts, a shorter overall length, and a reservoir that needs no mounting point of its own on an already crowded handlebar. The 13.5 mm piston sits at the larger end of the two axial sizes Accossato offers, meant for machines where a touch more braking force per stroke is useful without moving up to the piston sizes used on full-size sportbikes.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato has not registered this master cylinder against a specific model list, and our own fitment records carry none either, so it is treated as a universal 13.5 mm axial brake pump for a 22 mm handlebar clamp diameter. Before placing an order, measure the clamp area on your own handlebar and make sure the rest of your front brake system is set up to run a 13.5 mm axial master cylinder with its reservoir built in.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
