DescriptionThe whole story

On the Suzuki GSX-R 750 the front tyre, not the brake, sets the limit. That work falls to the B005 - 102.2 by 42.0 mm of ceramic sinter on a laser-cut plate. The mixture in this B005 is EXR: up to twenty percent more force in the second phase of braking.

Key Features

  • Two pads per pack, matched as a set for one Brembo caliper
  • Even pressure distribution across the 102.2 by 42.0 mm face from new to the wear limit
  • Wear indicator geometry unchanged from the standard Brembo pad, so the usual inspection still applies on the GSX-R 750
  • Compatible with the standard Brembo retaining pin and spring of the GSX-R 750 - nothing else to buy
  • Wear stays even across the 102.2 mm of friction face rather than concentrating at the leading edge
  • No bedding-in ritual: the B005 reaches its working friction level within the first few stops

Construction and Material Quality

Two things define how a B005 behaves: the ceramic mixture and the plate under it. Heat enters a B005 at the friction face and has to leave through the plate, which is why the alloy matters as much as the mixture. It is also why ZCOO can quote fade resistance beyond 600 degrees for the B005 without qualifying it.

Performance and Feel

Choosing between EX Race and EXR on a GSX-R 750 comes down to what you want back. The B005 in EXR keeps EXC's authority and loses its abruptness. On the GSX-R 750 it means the fifteenth lap can be braked like the second.

Fitment and Compatibility

This reference is catalogued for the Brembo-equipped Suzuki GSX-R 750, 2011 to 2025. The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height. Front axle exclusively - there is no rear B005.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
