DescriptionThe whole story

The V85TT TRAVEL puts the rider high and forward, which is exactly where they do not want a surprise. The V85TT TRAVEL takes the B002: a 8.5 mm stack of ceramic-sintered material across 75.5 by 55.0 mm. EX Race is ZCOO's everyday racing compound, and on a V85TT TRAVEL it is unusually kind to the discs.

Key Features

  • Shipped in ZCOO's own packaging with the ZRM-B002C code printed on it, so a repeat order needs no guesswork
  • Progressive rather than digital: on the Moto Guzzi V85TT TRAVEL the first millimetre of lever travel produces the first millimetre of deceleration
  • Suits the V85TT TRAVEL on the road as readily as on a circuit, which is what separates the ceramic platform from a pure race sinter
  • No warm-up needed: the B002 works at the first cold stop of the day, which is why ZCOO sells EX Race for road as well as circuit use
  • Fade-free past 600 degrees Celsius, the range a hard-worked V85TT TRAVEL front end reaches
  • Direct replacement for the standard Brembo pad on the Moto Guzzi V85TT TRAVEL - no shims, no spacers, no modification

Construction and Material Quality

Manufacture is Japanese and unchanged across the range, the B002 included. The B002 plate is cut to the Brembo window rather than trimmed down from a larger blank. Together they remove the two things that normally end a sintered pad, and the B002 is built against both: fade at the top of the range, and the friction layer lifting away.

Performance and Feel

EX Race does not try to be the most aggressive compound in the Brembo caliper. The lever pressure needed for a given deceleration barely moves as heat builds through a session on the V85TT TRAVEL. On an unfaired machine like the Moto Guzzi V85TT TRAVEL that is a control argument, not a comfort one.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the V85TT TRAVEL of 2020 to 2023 the B002 is the shape ZCOO lists. The B002 fits the front axle of the V85TT TRAVEL and nothing else. The same B002 shape covers 75 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 75.5 mm length and 55.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
