DescriptionThe whole story

Corner entry is where a ZX-10 RR is quick or slow, and the lever decides it. The B005 is ZCOO's shape for the Brembo caliper of the Kawasaki ZX-10 RR, 102.2 mm long and 8.05 mm thick. The B005 carries EX Race, the control-oriented of ZCOO's two ceramic mixtures.

Key Features

  • The B005 is dimensionally stable under the clamping load a Brembo caliper generates
  • Selected by ZCOO for the Kawasaki ZX-10 RR out of the sixteen shapes in the 2026 programme
  • No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this compound - treat the B005 as a track and competition part
  • Consistent friction from the first lap to the wear limit, so the braking marker set on a cold ZX-10 RR still means the same thing when it is hot
  • A pad geometry drawn for this caliper family rather than shared across three of them, which is why the B005 fills its window
  • 102.2 by 42.0 mm friction face at 8.05 mm total thickness, cut for the Brembo caliper of the Kawasaki ZX-10 RR

Construction and Material Quality

The Kawasaki ZX-10 RR pad is made the way ZCOO makes its competition references. Heat enters a B005 at the friction face and has to leave through the plate, which is why the alloy matters as much as the mixture. On the ZX-10 RR that translates into a lever position which does not creep as the pad thins.

Performance and Feel

The useful measure of a ZX-10 RR pad is not one hard stop but a hundred ordinary ones. It works from cold without a warm-up lap and does not turn grabby once the B005 is hot. Which on a ZX-10 RR is the whole reason to change compound in the first place.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Kawasaki ZX-10 RR, 2017 to 2024, on the Brembo fitment. The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Nothing in the ZCOO range fits the rear axle of the ZX-10 RR. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
