The GSX-S150 was never a European catalogue model. It was built for markets that draw no line at 125 cm³, and where it turns up here it has usually arrived privately, one machine at a time. That is a pleasure with a logistics problem attached. The motorcycle is simple and durable, but its routine consumables are not in the local dealer system: a paper element for a model the nearest dealer never stocked means a query, a wait and a shipment. A part you stop ordering

Maintaining it needs nothing you must obtain first: compressed air, which every tyre shop and garage compressor has, and occasionally warm water with a mild detergent. There is no filter oil to buy in the right grade, no aerosol to run out of and nothing to get wrong by dosing. On an imported machine that is practical, not merely convenient: the difference between a service item you deal with on the day you notice it and one with a delivery time — between the job being done and postponed.

The same motorcycle, without the licence cap

Mechanically the 150 is not a larger class of machine; it is the version of the same design that was not written to a learner limit — same layout, same airbox, asked for slightly more air. That is the honest way to read a shared part number: the housing does not grow with the engine, so here the element's state sits a little closer to the point where it matters. What the P08 supplies is a resistance that stays where it started. It is a single layer of woven polyester, spun from threads of 22 microns and upwards, filtering at 80 microns and flowing 5,050 litres per square metre per second over roughly twice the surface of other performance filters. Where conditions are dustier or wetter, Sprint Filter weave finer: P037 at 37 microns, P14 at 14, T12 at 7 — and every step finer costs flow, the P14 passing 1,800. A trade, not a ranking.

Care and cleaning

Everything the PM250S needs is already in most garages: compressed air, blown from the clean side outwards, or lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinsed until the water runs clear.
