Four headers, one collector, sixty-five millimetres, titanium. This is the piece Spark developed with teams running the R1 in international championships, offered without a silencer for riders building a system in stages or replacing a collector rather than a whole exhaust.
Key Features
- Titanium D.65 collector for the full system, Yamaha R1 and R1M.
- Replaces all four standard headers and the catalytic converter.
- CNC-machined bushings on the couplings — the change Spark made after 2021.
- Visible weld seams, calculated cones and segments on the connecting pipe.
- Takes the Konix Evo, Moto GP and Grid-O silencer groups.
- Supplied without a silencer.
What the 2021 Revision Changed
Spark states it plainly: the system produced until 2021 was replaced by a new manifold configuration, improved in performance and in engineering terms through the introduction of CNC-machined bushings on the couplings. This is the current configuration.
A machined bushing at a joint is not cosmetic. It gives the slip-fit a true, concentric seat instead of a tube pressed into a tube, which is what keeps a joint gas-tight through hundreds of heat cycles and stops it working loose under vibration. On a bike that spends its life between ambient temperature and glowing, that is the difference between a collector that stays where it was fitted and one that needs checking after every session.
Cones, Not Bends
Spark asks to be taken seriously on this point, so we will quote it: the welds, segments and cones on the connecting pipe are not simple aesthetic quibbles. After repeated bench testing, cones outside the standard production range were chosen because they gave the best torque.
That is an unusual thing for a manufacturer to write down. It means the shape of this collector was arrived at on a dynamometer rather than in a styling exercise, and that the sections you can see are the ones the bench selected. The unpolished seams that follow are simply what hand-welding a chosen geometry looks like.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha R1 and R1M, 2015 through 2025. Complete with the Konix Evo silencer this collector becomes GYA8880T. The stainless-steel equivalent is GYA8881R at around five hundred and seventy euros less; the endurance-specification titanium collector is GYA8894R.
Road Approval
None. Fitting this collector removes the catalytic converter, which ends road legality regardless of what is fitted behind it. Closed circuits only.
