DescriptionThe whole story▼

Among Shark's Pinlock inserts, VZ16012P is the one the French price list calls PINLOCK V1 - 70 µ; the English line simply says PINLOCK. It is clear, code INC, and listed at just 0.01 kg. If your visor takes a first-generation insert, the V1 in that French line is the clue to look for on your old packaging.

Key Features

  • Pinlock insert, clear, part number VZ16012P
  • Supplier designation PINLOCK, French line PINLOCK V1 - 70 µ
  • Version code INC, variant VZ16012PINCTU
  • One universal size
  • Listed weight 0.01 kg, customs tariff number 3926906000

Supplied as

One clear Pinlock insert. The list names no visor and no pins with it, so your visor must already be prepared for Pinlock.

How it goes on

With the visor removed and lying on a soft cloth, bow the insert slightly and seat one end behind a pin, then the other end behind the opposite pin. Once it lies flat, check that the edge seal touches the visor all the way round.

Ordering by part number

Shark names no helmet model for VZ16012P, so the old insert or its packaging is where the answer lies. Be careful with the similar numbers: VZ1530P has the same 70 µ in its French line but no V1 and no version code, VZ16018P is PINLOCK V2, VZ15058P PINLOCK V4, VZ15059P PINLOCK V5, and VZ16013P the version without SH logo.

Care

Wash it only with lukewarm water, dry it in the air, and never wipe the inner face while fogged. Store the visor with the insert fitted so the seal keeps its shape. When fog appears between insert and visor or the surface is scratched, replace it.
