Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 15414-01

What It Is

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Port area and shim seat geometry decide the damping curve before any adjuster is touched. Öhlins uses a piston band rather than metal-to-metal contact, which is what keeps the bore intact. A scored piston face means oil bypasses the shims entirely.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.

Identifying the Right Part

Order under 15414-01. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. The seat face has to be flat enough for the first shim to seal against it. Twin-tube pistons have separate paths for compression and rebound, which is the whole point of the design.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 15414-01

Category: Valves

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/15414-01_2b4c1e3b-f7b6-4e27-9a13-1dda7f92fafe.png?v=1788876265
