Where It Sits
57 mm, 38 mm: that is the whole specification, and it has to match what came out. Ordering the small parts with the seal kit saves the second delivery that most rebuilds otherwise need. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once. Circlips are single-use in practice: once opened, the grip is no longer reliable.
Why the Original
Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.
Getting the Number Right
Order under 00629-01. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. dimension a 57 mm, dimension b 38 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably. Spacers set the internal geometry of the unit, which means their length is a specification and not a filler.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
