DescriptionThe whole story▼
Shaft extension M14x1/ M13x1/37.5, Öhlins part number 03058-01. Öhlins hardens and surface-treats its shafts because a scratch on the running surface takes the seal with it.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 03058-01
- Length 37.5 mm
- Diameter 1 mm
- Thread M14x1
- Original Öhlins service part
Function
Öhlins gives it as 1 mm, 37.5 mm; nothing about that is approximate. This is a part that is replaced rather than repaired. Shaft diameter sets the displaced volume, which is why it is part of the damper's specification. A shaft is measured by diameter and overall length, and both are specific to the unit it belongs to.
Why the Original
An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.
How to Be Sure It Fits
Part number 03058-01 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Check diameter 1 mm, length 37.5 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Its polished section runs directly in the seal, so any mark there ends the seal's life quickly. Any mark on the polished section is a reason to replace rather than to reassemble.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
