What It Is
This one measures 29 mm, 32 mm, 0.30 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. A coned or marked shim is finished — it no longer seals against its neighbour. Changing one shim in a stack alters the damping curve measurably; that is why Öhlins sells them individually rather than only as sets. Öhlins grinds shims to a flatness tolerance because the faces have to seal against each other.
Genuine Service Part
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.
Identifying the Right Part
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 01130-04. inner diameter 29 mm, outer diameter 32 mm, thickness 0.30 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. A shim is a thin, ground steel washer, and the stack of them is what generates damping. Outer diameter sets the lever the oil works against; thickness sets how hard it resists.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
