DescriptionThe whole story▼
Preload tube 201mm, Öhlins part number 04763-13. Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to.
Key Features
- Original Öhlins service part
- Öhlins part number 04763-13
Function
There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. An adjuster that turns without resistance has lost its detent; the setting is then guesswork. A worn adjuster loses its clicks, and with them any chance of a methodical setup. Compression and rebound adjusters are not interchangeable even when they look similar.
Why the Original
This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.
Getting the Number Right
04763-13 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed and pressurised; they are replaced as a unit. Needle and seat together meter the bleed flow; damage to either changes the whole adjustment range.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.
