The piston carries the shim stacks and meters the oil; its port layout is what makes an Öhlins damper behave the way it does. Valves hold pressure in one direction and open in the other. A scored piston face means oil bypasses the shims entirely.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

Getting the Number Right

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 04103-02. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04103-02

Category: Valves

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04103-02_e91b6cbb-cde8-4af8-921e-eed318c0cfca.png?v=1788872496
