Cylinder tube 36/119, Öhlins part number 04300-12. The tube also carries the end cap threads, so thread damage means a new tube.
Key Features

- Length 119 mm
- Öhlins part number 04300-12
- Original Öhlins service part
Function
Öhlins publishes 36 mm, 119 mm for 04300-12 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. The tube also carries the end cap threads, so thread damage means a new tube. Reservoir tubes carry the gas charge and are built to the same standard as the working cylinder. A hard bottoming often leaves a witness ring inside the bore — that tube is finished.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
Identifying the Right Part
04300-12 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. The published dimensions are diameter 36 mm, length 119 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Tubes are replaced when the bore is marked; polishing them out changes the clearance and makes it worse. The tube also carries the end cap threads, so thread damage means a new tube.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.
