DescriptionThe whole story▼
Cylinder head 0 deg pb 36/22, Öhlins part number 03290-01. Most seal kits are built around a specific head design.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 03290-01
- Original Öhlins service part
- Diameter 36 mm
- Length 22 mm
What It Is
Öhlins gives it as 36 mm, 22 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Head and tube are matched by thread and diameter; neither is interchangeable across units. The tube carries the end cap threads, so damaged threads mean a new tube rather than a repair. A scored bore means lost damping, because the oil bypasses the piston rather than being forced through the shims.
Why the Original
The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
Getting the Number Right
Öhlins identifies this position by the number 03290-01 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. diameter 36 mm, length 22 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. The tube carries the end cap threads, so damaged threads mean a new tube rather than a repair. Öhlins hones its tubes to a defined surface finish rather than simply to a diameter.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
