- Length 10 mm
- Öhlins part number 01056-15
- Original Öhlins service part
What It Is
Dimensionally this is 14 mm, 16 mm, 10 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Öhlins uses low-friction coated bushings so the unit breaks away smoothly rather than sticking. A worn bushing lets the shaft move off centre, and the seal is the next thing to fail. Both diameters and the length are specification, not approximation.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.
How to Be Sure It Fits
Order under 01056-15. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins states inner diameter 14 mm, outer diameter 16 mm, length 10 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Play at a bushing lets the shaft run off centre and the seal wears unevenly. Worn bushings show up as a knock over sharp edges before they show up as a leak.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
