DescriptionThe whole story▼

Genuine LS2 replacement chin bar for the FF901 Advant X, part 800901CBB18, finished to match the Solid Gloss Carbon decor. Bare 6K carbon under a full gloss lacquer, for the Solid Gloss Carbon shell. Gloss is the finish where a mismatched chin bar shows up worst: the lacquer refracts light into the weave, so a satin bar next to a gloss shell reads as two different materials rather than two shades.

The chin bar is the part of a flip-up that takes the abuse. It is the lowest point of the helmet when it is set down on a tank or a bench, it is what a dropped helmet lands on, and it is the section handled at every fuel stop and every set of traffic lights. Being able to replace it — rather than the whole helmet — after a scrape in a car park is one of the practical advantages of a modular design.

On the Advant X the bar is carbon like the shell, and it is a certified structure rather than a cover: under ECE 22.06 the chin bar is impact-tested and its locking mechanism is tested to stay shut. That is what earns the helmet its P classification. Fit the correct part, fit it properly, and check the lock engages positively on both sides before riding.

🔴 One part number covers all helmet sizes — the chin bar is common across both shells. Supplied as the bar only; the ratchet system, pins and plates are listed separately.
