DescriptionThe whole story▼

Where the tank sits on a STREET TRIPLE 675 decides how the hose runs. The OBT009 sets the reservoir position on the STREET TRIPLE 675 at 28.9 mm and 31 mm. LighTech anodises it black and offers nothing else. On a 675 cc machine like the STREET TRIPLE 675 it is the cheapest cockpit change available.

Key Features

  • Reversible — the original part goes back on the STREET TRIPLE 675 any time
  • 10 g on the STREET TRIPLE 675
  • Laser-marked with the LighTech logo
  • It is the cheapest visible change on a STREET TRIPLE 675
  • Made in Italy
  • A stock LighTech item rather than a special order

In the Workshop

Fitting the OBT009 to a STREET TRIPLE 675 is a hand-tool job. Mount it so the reservoir sits above the master cylinder on the STREET TRIPLE 675, never below. No permanent alteration to the STREET TRIPLE 675 is involved.

Application

LighTech lists the OBT009 for the Triumph STREET TRIPLE 675. LighTech lists it as adaptable rather than model-specific, so check the position on the STREET TRIPLE 675 first.

The Mount Decides the Fit

A reservoir that is not held properly is a reservoir that moves. Black anodised aluminium at 10 g, which is all the OBT009 needs to be. It is the smallest part of the installation.

In the Package

LighTech ships the OBT009 on its own. Packaging carries the reference, so a second order is unambiguous.

Sold Separately

The OBT009 is a bracket and nothing else. It is made for the LighTech reservoir range and fits none of the original parts. If you are starting from nothing on the STREET TRIPLE 675, you need both lines on the order.

Looking After It

Check the bracket fasteners on the STREET TRIPLE 675 at the same interval as the bar clamps. Beyond that the OBT009 asks nothing of you.

Road Use and Approval

What looks like a cosmetic swap on the STREET TRIPLE 675 is a change to a safety system. There is no type approval for the OBT009; we say that plainly rather than bury it. If the STREET TRIPLE 675 is used on public roads, treat this as a brake-system modification: inspection body first, workshop check after.
