DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt ADV DriTour 5.5 in Midnight Blue is a laminated adventure touring jacket for riders who would rather not stop at the roadside to pull on a rain layer. The waterproof barrier sits directly in the outer fabric, so the shell itself keeps the rain out and does not soak up water, which lets it dry quickly once the clouds move on.
Midnight Blue pairs a navy upper with sand-coloured front panels, giving the jacket a calm, outdoor look that suits a long trip through changing scenery as well as a coffee stop in town.
Key Features
- HydraDri EVO laminate rated at 20,000 mm waterproof and 20,000 g/m² breathable
- Tested and certified to EN 17092-3:2020, Class AA, for road use
- 3DF protectors fitted at back (EN 1621-2 Level 2), shoulders and elbows (EN 1621-1 Level 2)
- Pocket prepared for an EN 1621-3 Level 2 chest protector
- Removable thermal inner jacket that also works as a casual jacket off the bike
- Zipped vents on the upper arms, chest and back; the chest vents double as pockets
- Long connection zipper for Leatt adventure pants, neck brace ready
Weatherproofing
Leatt builds the outer layer from direct laminated Leatt RipStop 600D and laminated 600D nylon. Every seam is taped, and the surface carries a PFC-free DWR C0 treatment. Because there is no loose membrane hanging inside, the jacket stays comparatively slim, and a wet outer fabric does not turn into a heavy sponge during a long day in the rain.
Impact Protection
The back, shoulder and elbow pads are 3DF units certified to Level 2. Their pockets are easy to reach, and the elbow protector can be accessed from the outside. Leatt lines the protector areas with 3D spacer mesh for comfort, and a hook-and-loop strap on the lower arm holds the elbow pad where it belongs. A chest protector is not supplied; the jacket is prepared to take one.
Thermal Layer
For cold mornings the zip-in thermal jacket adds insulation. The sleeves of the inner liner are zipped in, so your arms slide in smoothly when you put the outer jacket on. Taken out, the liner becomes a standalone insulated jacket with two hand-warmer pockets and a zipped mesh pocket of its own.
Storage and Adjustment
On the outside you get waterproof flapped drop-in pockets, fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets and a large zipped rear pocket under a waterproof cover flap. Behind the front zip sits a mesh pocket with a smooth bottom, so small items do not snag. The waist closes with a double hook-and-loop flap, the upper arms with Hypalon snap adjusters, and the hem, cuffs and collar adjust with hook and loop. A snap keeps the collar flap open on hot climbs, TPU grip tips help with gloves, and the main zips are YKK.
What you should know
The DriTour 5.5 relies on a laminated shell, so the thermal liner is the only part you can remove; there is no separate rain liner to leave at home. The chest protector must be bought separately. Leatt describes the cut as accommodating bigger riders, so try it over the layers you plan to wear. The jacket weighs around 2,150 g, which is typical for a fully equipped touring jacket with protectors.
Colour
The Midnight Blue version combines a deep navy body with sand-beige lower front panels, black shoulders and black lower sleeves. Small red Leatt logos on the arms and reflective details on the back add contrast. The light front panels will show road dust sooner than the navy areas, while the dark shoulders hide wear from backpack straps.
