DescriptionThe whole story▼
The left-hand switch on an S1000RR carries the indicators, the horn, the beam selector and the menu navigation for the TFT display. The JP PLS 008 replaces it in machined Ergal, in four finishes.
Key Features
- BMW S1000RR (2015–2018)
- Full street control set
- Black, blue, red or titanium anodising
- CNC-milled Ergal 7075
- Sealed switch elements
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
The Busier Side of the Bar
On a modern BMW the left hand does more work than the right. Indicators, horn, high beam, the menu wheel and the mode confirmation all sit there, and on the K46 generation the display navigation was added to the same cluster without the housing growing. The result is a dense set of controls that has to stay unambiguous under a glove.
Why This Generation Specifically
The 2015 to 2018 K46 has its own left-hand connector and its own button count, distinct from both the 2009 bike before it and the ShiftCam machine after. Fitting the wrong generation's cluster produces a switch that mounts perfectly and does not talk to the motorcycle, which is why the year span on this part is narrower than on the right-hand unit.
Machined Rather Than Moulded
The original assembly is a two-piece moulding that clamps around the bar. Over time the halves develop play, and the buttons that sit across the joint start to feel spongy. A billet housing has no joint in that plane. It is a small difference on a new bike and a very obvious one on a ten-year-old track machine.
Four Anodised Colours
Black, blue, red and titanium, all anodised rather than painted. On an RR wearing BMW's own Motorsport livery, blue and red both pick up existing accents on the fairing. Black disappears entirely, which is what most owners of the plainer colour schemes choose.
