DescriptionThe whole story▼
The undertail closes the underside of the tail above the rear wheel. On a road M it carries the plate bracket and the rear lighting; on a track M it carries nothing at all, and the difference between those two states is the most useful thing to know before ordering.
Key Features
- Undertail cover, direct replacement for the original panel
- 245 Twill weave in clear coat, matt or raw
- Autoclave-cured laminate across the full width of the tail underside
- Original mounting points and fasteners
- Shared with the S1000RR of the same period
Strip It or Keep It
The first thing most owners do to an M1000RR destined for circuits is remove everything hanging under the tail. What is left is a cover with no job beyond keeping spray off the shock, and at that point the cheapest finish is the correct one.
On a road-registered machine the opposite applies: the panel holds a plate bracket, a plate light and indicator stalks, and all of it has to go back where it came from. Photograph the original before the first fastener comes out.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW M1000RR, model years 2023 through 2026, on the original undertail mounting points. Shared with the S1000RR. Where an aftermarket tail tidy is fitted, check its bracket against this panel before ordering.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Because plate mounting and rear lighting are involved, the registration position genuinely matters here rather than being a formality.
Gravel Traps Are Harder on It Than Roads
A rear tyre picking up gravel throws it into this panel with more energy than a road ever will. Cured laminate copes; lacquer over it chips, and a chip on the underside of a tail is invisible until the motorcycle is on a stand.
Raw is the honest recommendation for a machine that sees sessions: lowest price, nothing to chip, and the texture hides what a smooth surface would display.
