DescriptionThe whole story▼
The front sprocket cover sits over the countershaft on the left side of the engine and does the dirtiest work on a chain-drive motorcycle. It catches lubricant, it takes whatever the front wheel sends back along the engine cases, and on a Diavel V4 it does all of that in plain view.
Key Features
- Covers the front sprocket and countershaft area on the left engine side
- Four configurations in 200 Plain: clear coat, matt, satin and raw
- Carbon does not corrode where chain lube, road salt and water collect in recesses
- Fits the original mounting points with the standard screws
- Removes in minutes for chain and sprocket inspection
What 126 Nm Does to a Countershaft Area
The V4 Granturismo produces its torque low and delivers it through a chain, and the area behind this cover sees load that a mid-capacity single never approaches. The practical result is not damage — Ducati sizes the components properly — but throw: a hard-working drive flings more lubricant, more often, and further than a gentle one.
That is what this cover deals with. It is less a protective part than a containment part, and the difference from the original aluminium item is not strength but chemistry: an alloy cover in this position develops pitting where lubricant and winter salt stand in its recesses, and no amount of cleaning brings the surface back once it starts.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Diavel V4, 2023 to 2026, on the standard countershaft arrangement. Check clearance after fitting if a non-standard front sprocket is installed.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval for this cover. A sprocket cover can count as a guard in a technical inspection; confirm the requirement for your registration before road use.
A Five-Minute Part With a Ten-Year Consequence
Nobody photographs a sprocket cover, and that is precisely why the original tends to be the worst-looking component on an otherwise immaculate motorcycle by year five. It is out of mind, it is never cleaned properly, and by the time anyone looks at it closely the damage is chemical rather than cosmetic.
Replacing it early is therefore a decision about the motorcycle's condition at sale rather than its appearance today. The carbon part will look the same in a decade as it does on arrival, provided solvents are kept away from any lacquer on it — a cloth and mild degreaser rather than a spray can.
