DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the least expensive carbon part Fullsix makes for the XDiavel, and it sits directly in the rider's line of sight. That combination makes it the part most owners buy first: it costs less than a tank of fuel and it changes what you look at for every kilometre of every ride.
Key Features
- Replaces the moulded surround of the XDiavel instrument pod
- Four configurations: 200 Plain and 245 Twill, each in clear coat or matt
- Autoclave-cured carbon with a finished edge, so the cut line against the display reads clean
- Fits on the original clips and screws, no adhesive and no trimming
- The lowest-priced entry into the Fullsix XDiavel range
Why Matt Usually Wins Here
This panel sits at roughly the same angle as the instrument glass, which means anything that reflects will reflect into your eyes rather than away from them. A high-gloss clear coat next to a display is the one place on a motorcycle where the finish can genuinely annoy you, particularly with a low sun behind you.
Matt costs the same and removes the problem entirely. If the rest of the motorcycle is being built in clear coat, this is still the one panel worth taking in matt — nobody sees the instrument surround from outside the bike, and you look at it constantly.
A Sensible First Purchase
Because it is cheap and quick to fit, this part is the usual way to find out whether the weave suits your XDiavel before committing to a belly pan or a tail section. If that is the plan, order it in the weave you intend to use throughout rather than the one that happens to be listed first — a plain-weave sample tells you nothing about how twill will read across a large panel.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S, 2016 to 2024, on the original instrument pod. Uses the standard fixings; allow ten minutes.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes no ABE or EC type-approval for this cover. It is a trim panel around the instrument display with no effect on any approved characteristic; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
What It Does Not Cover
To be clear about scope: this is the surround, not the display and not the housing behind it. The instrument unit itself, its wiring and its mounting stay exactly as they are, and nothing about the electronics is touched. The part clips over the front face and changes what you see, nothing more.
That is worth stating because carbon instrument parts elsewhere in the market sometimes mean a full housing replacement with the electrical work that implies. This one does not. If the display is behaving oddly, this part is neither the cause nor the cure.
