DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 800NK is CFMOTO's 799 cc naked twin, and it is the first machine from the brand for which Akrapovic has developed a type-approved carbon slip-on. S-CF8SO1-HAPLC uses a carbon fibre outer sleeve and clamp over a titanium end cap and a stainless steel link pipe, drops 30.6 % of the standard silencer's weight, and adds 2.5 Nm at 4,900 rpm — right in the middle of where this engine does its work.
Key Features
- Carbon fibre muffler outer sleeve and carbon fibre muffler clamp, closed by a titanium end cap
- Stainless steel link pipe to the original header, so nothing in the emissions path is disturbed
- 2.13 kg instead of the standard 3.07 kg: 0.94 kg and 30.6 % less
- 1.7 PS (1.3 kW) and 2.5 Nm more, both measured at 4,900 rpm, which is the heart of the 799 cc twin's usable range
- Compact silhouette drawn to sit inside the bike's own lines and colour scheme rather than on top of them
- EC and ECE type approved, with the certificates supplied
- Installation in about 30 minutes, no remapping required
Construction and Material Quality
Three materials, each where it belongs. The outer sleeve is carbon fibre, which is where the weight saving comes from; the end cap is titanium, because that is the part exposed to the hottest gas and the most thermal cycling; and the link pipe is stainless steel, the right compromise for a section that has to seal against the standard header without distortion. Even the muffler clamp is carbon fibre, which is unusual at this price and is the detail that tells you the visible part of the design was not an afterthought.
The silencer is short and sits tight to the bike. CFMOTO gives the 800NK a strongly coloured frame and bodywork, and Akrapovic shaped this muffler to disappear into that rather than to fight it.
Performance and Sound
Both measured gains land at the same point in the rev range: 1.7 PS and 2.5 Nm at 4,900 rpm. Akrapovic states that throttle response and rideability were the development targets, and a torque gain placed at half of peak revs is exactly what that means in practice. Peak power moves from 94.9 PS to 95.6 PS and shifts 200 rpm higher.
The tone deepens and gains the hard-edged pulse a 270-degree twin should have, and a removable noise insert is included for events with their own decibel limit.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-CF8SO1-HAPLC is developed for the CFMOTO 800NK from model year 2023 through 2026 and fits both the Advanced and the Sport version, which share the same exhaust. It connects to the original header without modification.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval. Both certificates ship with the exhaust and are available for download on this page, so the silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union with no entry in the vehicle documents required.
