DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato makes the AGPA92 front pad for the Zero S of 2015 to 2017 in several compounds, and this one is ZXC ceramic racing. It is aimed squarely at the circuit. Anyone who has turned an early S into a track machine, with lap timer, stripped bodywork and a van full of tools, will find in ZXC the ceramic mix that Accossato offers for racing. On a daily commuter it would be the wrong tool; in the paddock it is the point.
Key Features
- AGPA92 front pads for the Zero S 2015-2017
- Fits ZF9.4, ZF12.5, ZF9.8 and ZF13.0 per Accossato
- ZXC ceramic racing compound
- Accossato: a ceramic mix ideal for racing
- Intended for track-prepared bikes
- Same pad also in OR, ST, EV1 and EV2
- Two pads per box, one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of ZXC is brief: a ceramic compound ideal for racing. The ceramic recipe is meant to operate in the temperature window of a circuit, where the brakes are used hard and often. As with its other pads, the company aims to limit heat build-up and keep wear slow, which helps the stopping power remain even over a full session. On cold public roads, a race-bred ceramic pad will not feel like a street compound, so ZXC belongs on a bike that is prepared for the track.
Turning an Early S into a Track Bike
Converting a 2015 to 2017 Zero S for track use usually starts with the basics: tyres, suspension settings, brake fluid and pads. The brakes deserve special attention, because the S was designed as a road bike and the track asks much more of them. With ZXC pads fitted, bleed the system with fresh fluid, check the disc thickness and make sure the calipers are clean inside. At the circuit, bed the pads in during the first session and pay attention to how the lever changes as the laps build up. Between sessions, check wear and look for glazing on the pad surface.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA92 for the front brake of the Zero S ZF9.4 and ZF12.5 from 2015 and ZF9.8 and ZF13.0 from 2016 and 2017. The 2024 S ZF14.4 takes AGPA96 at the front instead. For the rear, the company offers AGPP91. Replace the front pads as a pair, never combine compounds on the same caliper and pump the lever before rolling out of the pit.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or test certificate for these ceramic pads, so they are offered exclusively for racing.
Scope of Delivery
