DescriptionThe whole story▼

Brake fluid ages quietly on an enduro bike, picking up moisture ride after ride until a routine bleed becomes overdue, and the rear reservoir is usually the one riders check last. Accossato lists the PBM01 rear brake reservoir cover for the FE 501 built between 2014 and 2017, a cover that closes over the rear brake fluid reservoir and replaces the standard-fit item once it is removed.

Key Features

  • Rear brake reservoir cover for the Husqvarna FE 501, 2014 to 2017
  • Accossato code PBM01, closes the rear brake fluid reservoir
  • Available in orange, blue, black or silver
  • Same part also listed for the Husqvarna FC 250, TE 250 and TC 125, among others
  • Accossato also offers crankcase plugs, an oil pump cover and more for this bike
  • No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato shapes the PBM01 to seat directly on the FE 501's own rear reservoir, so it closes the reservoir exactly where this chassis places it. The four colours are a styling choice only, since each one seals the reservoir the same way once fitted. Brake fluid is hard on paint and finish alike, so a cover that shows swelling or discolouration around the seal is worth replacing rather than leaving in place.

Bleeding the Rear Brake Without the Mess

Topping up or bleeding the rear brake on the FE 501 means lifting this cover off more than once during the job, and brake fluid that drips onto the surrounding paint during that process can leave a mark that never fully cleans off. Fitting the PBM01 does not change how the bleed is done, but a cover in good condition comes off and seats back cleanly, and checking the fluid level against the handbook while it is open is worth doing at the same time. Keeping the reservoir level during the whole job also matters, since tipping it can let air back into the line.

Fitment and Compatibility

The FE 501 built between 2014 and 2017 sits on the PBM01's own application list. This particular cover is shared across most of Husqvarna's four-stroke and two-stroke off-road range as well as several KTM models, which lets an owner running more than one of these bikes standardise on a single part. Several seasons are grouped under this one code, so it pays to check the exact build year before ordering.

Road Approval

No German ABE is on file for the PBM01, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
