DescriptionThe whole story▼
Tucked beneath the tail of the MT-09, well away from the engine and the bars that draw most of an owner's attention, sits a rear brake reservoir that Accossato's TS013 is built to cover: CNC-machined aluminium anodised in seven colours, fitting both the standard MT-09 and its A Tracer derivative built between 2013 and 2019.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Yamaha MT-09, 2013 to 2019, including the A Tracer version
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised finish
- Seven colours: blue, black, orange, red, silver, green, gold
- FP004 oil filler and TS011 front brake fluid reservoir caps also listed for this MT-09
- Fits the original rear reservoir, once checked against the list
- Also listed for several other bikes sharing this reservoir
- Completes a full set of Accossato caps on the MT-09
- No German ABE on file; built for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The TS013 begins as aluminium shaped by CNC machinery, with anodising afterwards leaving its colour embedded in the surface rather than painted over it. Accossato names the reservoirs this cap suits without a further dimension, so the MT-09's exact version, standard or A Tracer, decides fitment. Black keeps the rear end looking stock, while a bolder colour finishes a set already started elsewhere on the bike.
The Cap Left for Last
Because the rear reservoir sits low and tucked behind the footpeg, it is usually the last part an MT-09 owner gets around to once the more visible front end has already been sorted. Stand the bike level before the old cap comes off, mask any nearby paint first, and work briskly once it is free, since brake fluid marks a painted surface on contact and the open reservoir keeps taking in moisture from the air; rinse off any spill with water straightaway. Bring the fluid up between its marks, turn the new screws down evenly, and give the rear brake a firm press at a standstill before riding off; none of this changes the date the fluid itself is next due.
Fitment and Compatibility
Both the standard MT-09 and its A Tracer derivative, spanning 2013 to 2019, carry this cap on Accossato's records, next to the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 and the Aprilia Shiver 900, which use the identical rear reservoir. The FP004 oil filler cap and the TS011 front brake fluid reservoir cap complete Accossato's range for this MT-09.
Road Approval
Accossato has supplied no test or approval documents for the TS013, so Inter-Pace lists it for racing and closed-course use rather than the public road.
