DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato 19x19 for 1-inch handlebars occupies the middle ground in the brand's custom-bar range, built with a pivot distance Accossato describes as mixed track and street use rather than leaning towards either extreme. The 19 mm piston is sized for dual-disc front brakes, and the black folding lever gives a compact control at the end of a 25.4 mm clamp, the size fitted to Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail handlebars rather than the narrower bars used on most sport motorcycles.
Key Features
- 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
- 19 mm lever pivot distance for mixed track and street use
- Built for 1-inch (25.4 mm) handlebar clamps
- Folding lever in black, long or short, with relieving eyelet (RST) or without (NRST)
- Forged aluminium body with natural anodising
- Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection under braking
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
The body is forged aluminium, natural anodised, made fully in Italy with the hardware Accossato fits throughout its radial brake range: stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals able to withstand repeated heat cycles and brake fluid exposure. An off-set riser built into the clamp reduces deflection of the master cylinder while the brake is applied, and the passive stroke, the distance the lever moves before the pads start to bite, is reduced by more than half versus a standard radial master cylinder of this type.
19 mm: Splitting the Difference Between Track and Street
Where the 18 mm version in this range leans towards a street-friendly lever feel and the 20 mm version is built specifically for track use, Accossato places the 19 mm pivot distance between the two, describing it as suited to mixed track and street riding. In practice that means slightly more hand force is needed than on the 18 mm unit to reach full braking power, but less than on the 20 mm one, a compromise aimed at riders who split their time between the road and occasional track days rather than committing to either use case. The 19 mm piston underneath stays the same across all three ratios, since it is the pivot distance, not the piston, that Accossato varies to tune this behaviour.
Fitment and Compatibility
Nineteen Harley-Davidson motorcycles from the Touring and Softail line-up are recorded against this master cylinder in our data, examples being the Harley-Davidson LOW RIDER (2018-2021), the Harley-Davidson CVO ROAD GLIDE LIMITED (2022-2023), the Harley-Davidson ROAD GLIDE ULTRA (2018-2019), the Harley-Davidson STREET GLIDE SPECIAL (2017-2023) and the Harley-Davidson ROAD GLIDE LIMITED (2020-2024). A complete, year-by-year list sits in the Fitment tab on this page; check it against your registration before placing an order.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
