DescriptionThe whole story▼

The last hour of a travel day is the one that catches people out. You have been on the bike since breakfast, the town you are aiming for turns out to be a maze of one-way streets, and the guesthouse hides behind a gravel courtyard with a slope to it. All of that is negotiated at walking pace on a fully laden F800GS, with the rear brake doing most of the thinking. Accossato's Organic (OR) filling of the AGPP91 rear pad suits that work, and it is listed for the BMW F800GS from 2008 to 2018.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) rear pads for the BMW F800GS, article AGPP91OR
  • Model years 2008 to 2018, rear wheel
  • Accossato promises long service and a mild effect on the disc
  • Matched to the light, constant pedal work of low-speed riding
  • Two pads per box, the set for one rear caliper
  • An off-road material exists in this shape for riders who go further afield
  • Front wheel of the same bike: the AGPA92 pad, 2008 to 2018
  • No German ABE documented; sold for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Of the fillings offered in the AGPP91 shape, the organic one asks least of the disc behind it. Accossato claims a long interval before replacement and gentle treatment of the friction ring, and neither promise is wasted at the back of a travel bike, where the pedal is used constantly but almost never hard enough to generate real heat. A rear disc that survives the whole life of the machine is a quiet saving that owners notice only when they compare service bills with someone else's. A single box holds two pads, which is what the one rear caliper takes.

The End of a Long Day

Tiredness shows up first in slow manoeuvres. A rider who has covered ground since morning is less precise with the clutch, slower to put a foot down and more likely to misjudge a camber, and a loaded F800GS is tall enough to punish all three. The remedy is the same one instructors teach: keep a little drive from the engine, hold a steady pressure on the pedal, look where you want the bike to go rather than at the gravel under the front wheel. Pads spend their lives in light contact during such manoeuvres, which produces very little heat but a great deal of gentle rubbing. When the trip is over, check that both pads have worn to the same degree, because an uneven pair usually means a caliper in need of cleaning.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list places the AGPP91 at the rear wheel of the BMW F800GS for the years 2008 to 2018. One caliper works that wheel, so a single box finishes the task, while the front of the bike is covered separately by the AGPA92 pad across the same span. For riders who spend real time on dirt, the off-road material in this outline is the better match. No Accossato disc is offered for the F800GS.

Road Approval

Nothing that documents an approval for the AGPP91OR has come into our hands, and there is no German ABE for it. The pad is offered for competition and closed-course riding.

Scope of Delivery

Two Accossato AGPP91 pads in the Organic (OR) compound, boxed together for the rear caliper.
