DescriptionThe whole story▼
Most Multistrada 1200 Enduro riders who leave the tarmac will sooner or later have to lift the bike. Ducati built the Enduro for riders who mean it, with spoked wheels, longer suspension travel and a large tank, and on a rutted track or a sandy corner at walking pace it will occasionally lie down. Getting a fully fuelled, loaded adventure bike back on its wheels is a skill in itself. Accossato's PF05 gives the front of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro of 2016 to 2018 two black sliders to land on first.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro, 2016 to 2018
- Accossato's application row names the Enduro Pro
- Accossato PF05 front fork protection, one pair
- Aluminium and plastic, black
- Spacers, screws and every other mounting part supplied, says Accossato
- PP069 rear axle sliders listed for the same bike
- No German ABE on record; for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The PF05 is Accossato's front fork protection: two protectors, aluminium combined with plastic, both finished in black. Spacers and screws are included, and Accossato says the same of every other part required to mount the set. On an adventure bike that spends time off road, their purpose is plain. When the Multistrada 1200 Enduro tips over in a rut or on loose stones, the sliders are meant to reach the ground before the fork, and that can reduce the damage in that area. On rough terrain they will wear, as they are meant to; replace one that is cracked or deeply gouged. Off-road riding is familiar ground for Accossato, whose history includes an Enduro world championship title in 1985.
Lifting a Heavy Adventure Bike
Before you lift anything, switch off the ignition, select a gear and take a breath. Look at the ground: if the bike lies with its wheels uphill, it can be easier to pivot it round on its side first, so that you are not lifting against the slope. Take off heavy luggage if you can. Then turn the handlebar to full lock towards the ground, so the front wheel cannot roll. If the bike lies on its right side, fold the side stand out first, so it has something to rest on once it is upright. Back into the seat, take the lower grip in one hand and a solid part at the rear, such as a grab rail or the luggage rack, in the other, and walk the bike up with short steps, keeping your back straight and letting your legs do the work. Once it stands, hold it firmly, because the danger now is pushing it over the other way. On the Multistrada 1200 Enduro, with its tall suspension, that last moment needs particular care. If it will not come up, wait for help rather than straining your back.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application row names the Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro of 2016 to 2018, and we have linked the PF05 to the Multistrada 1200 Enduro of those years. If yours is the standard Enduro rather than the Pro, a short check with us before ordering does no harm. For the rear, Accossato lists the PP069 axle sliders for the same bike. The PF05 also appears in our shop for the Multistrada 1260 and the Hyperstrada 821. After fitting, spin the front wheel and turn the bars through their full range, and after the first day off road, look at the screws again.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor any other approval paper for the PF05 is in our files, so we offer it for competition use and the racetrack.
