DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Scrambler Classic in the driveway is a magnet for children. The round headlight, the chunky tyres and the simple, friendly shape make small visitors want to touch it, climb on it and pretend to ride. A motorcycle on its side stand was never meant to take that kind of weight from the wrong side, and a child pulling on a handlebar can bring it over in a moment, with the child underneath. Accossato's TP090 crash pads are listed for the Scrambler Classic from 2015 to 2018.
Key Features
- Crash pads for the Ducati Scrambler Classic, 2015 to 2018
- Accossato TP090, sold in pairs
- CNC-machined aluminium body
- Six insert colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Optional screw cover anodised in the insert colour
- Drilling needed on some motorcycles: ask us about your bike first
- No German ABE documented; offered for racing
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, machines the TP090 from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises the insert of each pad in colour. The choice runs from blue, green and black to red, silver and gold, and a screw cover in the same colour can be added if you want the fixing hidden. Two pads are in the pack. On the Scrambler Classic they are intended to be the first thing to reach the ground when the bike topples, which can reduce the damage to the frame and the parts nearby. A pad that has taken a hard hit is replaced.
Children Around the Bike
The child comes first, the bike second. A motorcycle that falls on a small person can cause serious injury, so a few rules are worth setting before curiosity takes over. Never leave the key in the ignition, and never let a child sit on the Scrambler Classic unless an adult is holding it upright with both hands. Explain, simply and early, that the bike is not a climbing frame, and that the exhaust and the engine stay hot for a long time after a ride; a hot silencer is a real risk for small legs. In the garage, park the bike against a wall on a firm floor, in gear and with the bars turned to the stand, so that it cannot be pulled over from the open side. A cover makes it less inviting, and a closed garage door keeps the neighbours' children out too. If the bike does come down with a child nearby, check the child first, then the pads, the levers and the mirrors.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the TP090 for the Scrambler Classic from 2015 to 2018, and our listing follows it. Accossato mentions that some motorcycles need the fairing drilled for its pads, without naming them; the Scrambler Classic has hardly any bodywork, but please ask us before ordering whether drilling is required on your bike. The PF044 front and PP018 rear axle sliders are also listed for the Classic. In our shop, the same pads appear for the Scrambler Icon, the Scrambler 1100 and the Monster 797.
Road Approval
No approval documentation, such as an ABE, is available to us for the TP090, and we sell the pads for track use.
Scope of Delivery
