DescriptionThe whole story▼
A big four-stroke like the Honda CRF450X is happiest on fast, open trails, but most off-road routes include a section that asks for the opposite: a field of loose boulders, a dry riverbed or a rocky climb where the bike moves at walking pace and the rider's feet are off the pegs as often as on them. For those moments Accossato makes the C7210, a folding clutch lever for the CRF450X of 2005 to 2017. The Ergal 7075 lever has a long blade for four fingers, and a joint allows the blade to tip forward when the bike falls onto its left.

Construction and Material Quality
Slow riding among rocks keeps a clutch lever busy for minutes at a time. The C7210 is CNC-machined in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and Accossato names strength, low weight and reliability as the reasons for that choice. The lever is divided at a joint: its dark base carries the pivot at the clutch perch, and its black or red blade can fold away from it. The blade is long, with room for four fingers, which suits the slow, sustained clutch work a big four-stroke needs in rough ground.
Paddling Through a Boulder Field
In a boulder field the throttle does less than you might think and the clutch does more. The CRF450X has plenty of torque, and letting it all reach the rear tyre at once sends the bike bouncing sideways off the next rock. Experienced riders hold the throttle steady and let the clutch decide how much of the engine's pull reaches the rear wheel, choosing a line from rock to rock, feeding drive in as the rear wheel climbs and taking it away as the front drops. The feet come off the pegs to paddle and balance, which is where the trouble often starts: a boot slips on a wet stone, the bike leans past the point of recovery and goes over.
A 450 falling onto rocks is heavy, and when the left side goes down, the clutch lever bears much of the impact. The C7210's joint gives the blade a chance to fold forward instead of cracking, so you may well pick the bike up to find a clutch that still works, which matters more here than almost anywhere: among boulders, a bike without a clutch is very hard to move. The joint cannot guarantee survival in every tumble, but it improves the odds when the ground is at its hardest.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives 2005 to 2017 for this lever on the Honda CRF450X, where it replaces the stock lever at the original clutch perch. Its partner on the right is the folding B8206, listed for the same years. Both are offered in black and red; blue and gold are reserved for the brake lever.
Road Approval
The C7210 has no German ABE documented. It is intended for off-road use and racing, whatever the registration status of the CRF450X it is fitted to.
